Chris Reed has been invited to speak at The Cardozo Law School, NY at a conference on Graphic and Visual Representations of Evidence and Inference in Legal Settings. He is today presenting a paper entitled “Wigmore, Toulmin and Walton: The Diagramming Trinity and their Application in Legal Practice”. The session lead to some interesting discussion.
Special Issue of IJIS on Argumentation
A special issue of the International Journal of Intelligent Systems is published today which showcases the best papers from CMNA2001 (San Francisco), CMNA2002 (Lyon), and CMNA2003 (Acapulco).
ArgDF: The first implementation based on the AIF
ArgDF is a framework for semantic web based argumentation using RDF. The project is based at the British University in Dubai and runs jointly with the University of Edinburgh, Informatics Department, and the University of Dundee, School of Computing. The project homepage can be found at www.ArgDF.org which links to the Dubai repository and Dundee repository. The Dundee repository is live today.
ARGMAS 2007
The Fourth International Workshop on Argumentation in Multi-Agent Systems (ArgMAS 2007) will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, May 14-15, 2007 in Conjunction with AAMAS 2007. The deadline for submission’s is 5th February 2007.
CMNA 2007
The seventh CMNA workshop was held at IJCAI in Hyderabad, India on 7th January 2007.
COMMA 2006
The first International Conference on Computational Models of Argument is to be held in Liverpool in September 2006. Chris Reed sits on the programme committee, and the Dundee group has had several papers accepted.

CMNA workshop series: The 6th International Workshop on Computational Models of Natural Argument, CMNA 6 is to be held at ECAI 2006 in Trento in August. CMNA 7 will be running at IJCAI in Hyderabad in January 2007.

The AraucariaDB is the world’s first online corpus of analysed argumentation, and is freely available for use.
ISSA 2006
We have had several papers accepted to the 6th International Conference on Argumentation, a conference series held in Amsterdam once every four years. Araucaria 3.1 was released at the event.
